Same-Day Dentistry
The aesthetic smile.
Restorative dentistry used to be a two-trip process. An impression in the mouth, weeks waiting on a lab, a temporary in between. CEREC and chairside milling have changed that. A digital scan, an in-office design, a porcelain block milled while you wait.
For the right case, the whole thing finishes in an afternoon. No second visit, no second round of anesthesia, no two weeks of a temporary that doesn’t quite fit.
What the visit looks like
A digital scan in place of the old gooey impression. From the scan, I design the restoration on screen — shape, contact, occlusion — fitted to your anatomy and the teeth around it. You can see the proposal before the mill starts cutting.
Shade is matched to the rest of the mouth, not to a chart. Once it’s bonded, polished, and adjusted to your bite, the visit is done.
When it fits
Single crowns. Replacing a failed restoration. Same-day laminates on one or two front teeth. Small refinements where the case is clear and the answer doesn’t need a ceramist in another building.
When the lab is the better answer
Full uppers. Complex shade matching across the smile line. Translucency that the in-office mill can’t quite get to. Same-day is a tool, not the goal — the work decides which way to go.
